I have just finished installing Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition (10.2.0.3) and would like to run the Tablespace creation scripts that were provided with the OTM install.

I have logged into SQLPLUS as SYSTEM and am within the Script8 directory. I am able to start off with the create_gc3_tablespaces script and answer all the prompted questions but when I tell it to create the tablespaces now, it immediately gives me these errors:

I am definitely not a DBA and I see the different sql script files the original create_gc3_tablespaces script calls on within the same directory.

Can somebody give me some sugestions? Just to note, none of the scripts in this Script8 directory have been modified in any way.

I am trying to put a VPD for restricting Order Releases. I am restricting it based on a refnum value on the order release.
As the refnum is present in the order_release_refnum table, I have created a join in the predicate with the order release table. The VPD is working fine.
Right now the amount of data is very less but is going to increase once it is put into production.
I wanted to know how the performance will be impacted due this VPD where I am not taking the values directly from the ORDER_RELEASE table.
Any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks.

I want to create mixed pallet from Order Base. I've created Release Method for mixed freight and two Items which I want to pack into one ship unit.

item1 can be shiped on pallet in two layers whith quantity 4 per layer
item2 can be shiped on pallet in two layers whith quantity 8 per layer

I want to create pallet with one layer of item1 and one layer of item2.
I can't understand if I must to set up Packaging Reference Unit and how to do it? The help topic about it isn't as clear as could be ;)

Recently a test database of OTM 5.5 version was export and imported in Oracle 10g. However after import, after executing the after import steps as mention in Administration guide, on execution of vpd.set_user('DBA.ADMIN'); I am getting excecption as below -

ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
ORA-06512: at "GLOGOWNER.VPD", line 205
ORA-06512: at "GLOGOWNER.VPD", line 214
ORA-06512: at line 1

The creation of user and roles were created using the scripts provided by OTM script8 folder.. Even if I exec vpd.set_user('DBA.ADMIN') as user sys also, I am getting the same exception.

Appreciate if you can point out what is being missed out to fix this issue if you have encountered a similar scenario.

I work for a company that uses the full Oracle applications suite. I am currently on a project team implementing the Advanced Planning System and specifically the Global Order Promising module.

The Advanced Planning System in general and Global Order Promising specifically has functionality that estimates transit time. The GOP tool estimates transit time in a very simple manner. The tool picks up the origin, the destination, and the ship method and based on those three inputs a call is made to table containing an estimated transit time value for the combination.

I asked OTM product management if there are plans to integrate APS/GOP with OTM. The short answer in no - not at this time.

My follow up question was - is it possible for OTM to feed the transit time table? I want to avoid maintaining two independent systems both capable of estimating transit time.

So my question to the forum is has anyone run into a similar business case? Can I use OTM to estimate (in a very simple way) transit time and then to populate an Oracle Applications table that will be accessed by the planning applications.

Most of our business involves temperature controlled shipments and we find that our planners are constantly having to go into each order release to check the specified temperature that our customers send us with each order. To find the temperature for the particular order release, the planner will select an order release from the results returned on the order release search they requested. Within each order release, the planner will select the Ship Unit tab and look at the Commodity Code field which has the type of temperature associated with the order. From there they can select the orders with compatible temperature profiles that can be bulk planned together.

Is there a way that the Commodity Code field from the Ship Unit tab under Order Release be put on the results screen from the Order Release search? I see that we can create custom screensets but I am not familiar with doing this.
